The physical security protection for a SCIF is intended to prevent as well as detect visual, acoustical, technical, and physical access by unauthorized persons.2
In a SCIF, sensitive and/or private information is stored, used, discussed, and/or electronically processed. The information discussed and viewed is done so with total privacy and therefore SCIFs are found in both the public and private sectors, in commercial and residential use.
Although the specs for each SCIF varies, the goal is the same: privacy and security. An aluminum barrier is one of the main components in a SCIF since the aluminum offers some sound proofing qualities (when installed according to specs between two layers of drywall) as well as being an effective barrier against RFID scanners. If you have questions about whether or not this product will work for your SCIF application, please see our specs page for all the technical specifications of this product or you can call us to get more information.* From feedback we have heard, using AtticFoil™ in your SCIF will work and you should use the solid version of AtticFoil™.
