“Have no fear, this stuff works. I have a 2 story house in Austin, Tex., and I wasn’t sure how much effect this would have. Well, my son and I stapled it up in the attic in about 8-10 hours (over 3 days). My roof is flatter than I thought, so a lot of it was hard, bent-over work amidst the existing blown-in insulation. At the beginning of the summer, the a/c struggled to hold 80 on a 100-degree day. Now, on a 104-degree day, it can hold at 75. I’ve got some left over, so I’m going to glue it up on the inside ribs of my metal garage door and see what happens. Also, I got the atticfoil lightning quick when I ordered it. Thumbs up!” – Spincut in TX
“Great Product! Best Price! Get Help Installing!!! I work commercial construction and am used to doing hard, dirty jobs. This by far takes the cake. If you do it correctly and do it by yourself, it is hot, itchy, and just plain miserable. The tight spaces, the insulation in your face, the nails sticking through the plywood roof sheathing…. All I can say is you just need help!!! That said, the product seems very good. I did the joint tape for a clean installation and to keep insulation from getting in the cracks when I blew it in after the installation. I will have to wait until next summer for actual results, but I am confident that this will help. Great product!” -Jimbob in LA
“Awesome Stuff! After checking numerous companies that sell a Radiant Barrier, I settled on AtticFoil. I could not have made a wiser decision. The stuff is awesome. Very strong, but lightweight. Easy to install. My attic space is now nowhere near how hot it used to be in the Arizona summers, and my overall house temp is maintained without running my AC constantly.” -D. Bruns in AZ
“After attending a seminar by a company selling foil attic installations, I found AtticFoil on the internet. Their cost was about 10% of what the installation company quoted and installation was easily done in two days by my son & I. Our heating costs this winter are dramatically less than last winter. This winter has averaged 6 degrees warmer than last year but I calculated that was only responsible for half of the cost reduction. I’m looking forward to finding out the impact it has during the summer heat.” – Art in SC
“Excellent, Excellent, Excellent. If every business in the U.S. would follow your example this country would be booming. From my order to the installation everything went smooth. The foil is strong and easy to work with. Just measure and cut the pieces in a suitable area and then carry the pieces to the attic and staple to the joists. Simplest job I ever done and anyone can do it..Thanks for a great product. I have noticed a difference in my bedroom warmth. I will be looking forward to see how it will help my air conditioning.” -Joe in OH
“Attic Foil works! It is not an air conditioner, but like shade will keep you house noticeably cooler, especially upstairs. Less AC usage is more money in my pocket. My attic temperatures went from about 25 degrees above outside temperature to about 10 degrees above outside temperatures. My upstairs AC is in the attic so now it isn’t trying to cool my upstairs while it is in an oven.” -Ed in GA
“Since we had a very mild winter it was hard to evaluate the effectiveness of the Attic Foil we installed last summer. Now as we are seeing some high temps. It is obvious that it is making a huge difference. We have a 1-1/2 story home and previously the attic room would be unusable in this weather, but this year there is really no difference when you walk up the stairs. I purchased a new window air conditioner on clearance last summer to use in this area, but it hasn’t made it out of the box. The one thing we did notice over the winter is that the house seemed more even in temperature. I highly recommend this product. We did it ourselves in the course of rebuilding our attic/dormer space and I am so glad we did.” -Laurie in NE
“Great Product. The attic was boiling hot when I was hanging the foil, but it is now much cooler. Fixed the “hot spot” in my guest room. Now it stays the same temp as the rest of my home.” -Ryan in NC
“The website info & videos gave me everything I needed to know. The radiant barrier is working as advertised, but don’t expect it fix all the other problems like return air leaks, duct leaks, window shading east, west & south, poor insulation and air infiltration. I ordered the 26″ rolls for truss’s and had a tuff but doable install as the attic is quite small. I cut 12′ lengths and used the nail on the stick to push the end to outer wall, then started stapling from the top working one side as far as reachable before moving to the other side. This prevented some binding or unevenness. I stapled as far down the truss as I could reach laying on my back.(yes it’s that small but I was determined) The remainder is laying on top of the insulation just like on the web site.” -B. Mac in FL
“If you are considering installing a radiant barrier in your attic this is definitely the place to not only shop/buy the materials but also an excellent resource for helpful tips and videos on the best way to install a radiant barrier. Don’t even think about buying the foil from any place else like the popular DIY stores as they are way overpriced considering what you pay on a square foot basis. This is also a very good DIY project. I am 49 years old and did all my attic spaces by myself (I have a +****sq/ft two story home with high pitched roofs) in stages over the course of about 5-6 weekends. The more you work with the materials the better you get at installing it. I went with the rafter and false ceiling approach in my main attic. I stapled the foil to the rafters until I got to about 6-7 ft high and then did the false ceiling using simple metal duct strapping every 4 ft securing it with aluminum foil HVAC tape. It certainly would have been easier with a helper but I managed to go it alone and took my time (didn’t have much luck talking my wife or two daughters into helping). From what I’ve read on line I think I accomplished for a few hundreds dollars (not including the cost of my labor) what a contractor would have certainly done faster but for probably thousands of dollars. The Attic foil is surprisingly strong and durable and once you get in the groove it gets somewhat easier to work with. In some areas I was working with +20 ft sections by myself. The end result is pretty self gratifying. The summer heat hasn’t kicked in yet here in SC but I’m looking forward to seeing the effects on my bill. I could already feel the difference on sunny days as I was installing the product how it was reflecting the heat back away from the attic space. If I ever build a new house in the future I will make sure that this is part of the basic construction up front. While I was up in the attic I also put down an extra layer of R30 unfaced insulation over the existing blown insulation (after installing the radiant barrier). Im hoping for an overall improvement from our typically high summer cooling costs. I think I only had one minor question along the way and I emailed the guys at attic foil. With a day or two I received an answer back to my question and they were very helpful.” -Bill in SC
“I own a bed and breakfast in Bedford Va. I installed attic foil in this house in October after investing this product for over a year and watching all the video’s on the website. Guest have even commented about the even heat and how comfortable the temperature was. The only problem we incurred was the heat pump was set on auto, after filling up the woodstove for the night and going to bed , about an hour later the air conditioning came on ( it was 85 in the house) first time in 13 years of living here this happened which I know is the attic foil I had just installed. I was pretty impressed by the product so I did another house. This time I waited for the temperature to be the same for 2 consecutive days , I took pictures of the house at 7am with the frost only on the overhangs not on the main house. I then installed attic foil and waited for 7am the next day for the picture that showed the whole house frosted over, Pretty conclusive evidence. I thought this product would be more beneficial in extreme weather conditions but it working well for me Great product. Thanks John Everett ” – John in VA
“I waited to do this survey until one summer’s worth of ac bills came in. Attic foil is very quality, heavy material. It was shipped quickly. It paid for itself in one summer. I got over 10% savings in my a.c. bill this last summer. It should be even more after I seal the canned light fixtures in the attic with covers and replace the incandescent bulbs with energy efficient ones. Thanks Atticfoil for a reasonably priced solution to high a.c. bills in Houston, TX.” -Jon in TX
“I am 75 years old and it took me 3 days to install the foil, I am pleased to say it keeps the house cooler In hot weather and has helped to keep it warmer in the cold weather. Now that warm weather is here it keeps the garage cooler and I am comfortable to work on my hobbies without air conditioner. It was a good investment.” -Grandpa in KY
“Fast delivery with my two rolls of Attic Foil. Took about two hours to lay it out on top of my existing insulation. The temperature in my house stays warmer longer and when we had days in the mid 80’s my upstairs was noticeably cooler. Great product at a very fair price.” -Jerry in OH
“I was expanding my upstairs hallway to incorporate a closet and old AC closet into a “landing” that would extend to the roofline thus making the ceiling to the room, the roof. When the contractor first installed the sheetrock with just insulation between the plywood roof underlayment and the sheetrock… it was very hot… the sheetrock itself was hot from the sun hitting the roof and transferring directly to the insulation and then to the sheetrock.
I immediately asked them to stop, I found attic foil on the internet and watched the video on how to install it in a “cathedral” ceiling… That seemed like just the trick so I ordered it. It came in less than 24 hours, and I had the contractor take down the sheetrock, install the attic foil, and reinstall the sheetrock…
What a HUGE difference! The sheetrock itself does not get hot even when the sun is beating down on the roof! So glad I found attic foil!” -Hot in TX
“I used it in an aluminum storage/utility shed that bakes in the FL sun. Temperatures inside now are way down, essentially the same as outside air temp. Effective, easy to put up, durable and reasonably priced — I’m happy.” -Curtis P. in FL
“This product and company is the real deal. They were very helpful, and sent exactly the right amount of foil. The cost is amazingly low for the performance. The performance is fantastic, my electric bill is at least 30% lower and I can actually keep my house cool until about 3 pm on a 95 degree day, before needing the air conditioner. I have been ripped off so many times by fraud products. This product and company was a fantastic experience. I have recommended to several people. I will use this again on my new construction home. Thank you” -Gail in CA
“I had seen similar products that were more expensive, I found the web page and liked the information and pricing that was provided. The company has tech support if needed and bundling pricing. I bought the product and it arrived within a few days. I was impressed with the quality and ease of installation. I installed it enveloping the attic area and notice a huge change in the attic temperature. It gets hot in SC, over 100 degrees in the summertime. The Attic Foil directs the heat out the ridge vents and keeps the heat from entering the living areas. I would and have recommended the product to others who are looking for cost saving ideas. I was glad that the company included a few decals/calling cards with each order, It is easy to hand them out when talking with others. Great product, strong and easy to work with.” -Aklar in SC
“I was planning to install a new metal roof over my shingle roof and was shopping for something to keep my attic cooler. Attic foil looked like a good and an economical way to do the job. I live in northwest Iowa and started the job in late september when the temperature was in the 40s and 50s. I have told my friends that after rolling out the foil standing on the roof was like standing in a frying pan. This stuff really reflects heat. I have no doubt that it will do the job that it is meant to do. Shipping was fast and the foil is as tough as they claim.” -Dale in IA
“About five years ago I was in a warehouse store and noticed a vendor demonstrating a radiant barrier for your attic. The vendor stated this stuff will reduce your heating and cooling bills significantly…I signed up for an in-home estimate. The quote I received to cover 2500 sq ft of attic was $10,000, I escorted the salesman to the front door and said goodnight. I conducted a little research online and found AtticFoil and their prices were more than reasonable. The site had videos on how to install their product so I decided to give it a try. Installation was easy and it has lowered my heating and cooling bills significantly…Highly recommended!” -Mac in VA
“Atticfoil went up nicely, installation took about 4 hours for a 2500 sq ft home. The foil does not tear, we had to always use scissors, really great product!!” -Jake V. in TX
“I used AtticFoil in the attic and walls of my new home as we were under construction. My home is a 2×6 construction. I used a polyiso board insulation that was 4″ thick. That gave me about 1.5″ of air space. The 5′ wide pieces worked perfectly on my main floor with 10′ ceilings. The 4′ wide pieces went up perfectly in the upstairs level with 8′ ceilings. I even put the foil throughout the garage before drywall went up. The 24″ wide foil for the attic went up very quickly. We started having 90 degree days and I still haven’t turned on the A/C. The day after I put the foil in the attic I could tell a difference…especially in the attic.” -Sean in UT
“We were able to install before the summer heat hit us here in South Texas. The positive change in the comfort level is very noticeable. We priced installation services in the $1000s! This was something we were able to do ourselves.” -Jim in TX
“Great product and this company is so knowledgeable, helpful and patient as I had many different and changing applications. It is so easy to install, sturdy and easy to cut especially with the cutter they provided. Before I redesigned my ceiling space, (4/12 pitch) I put ceiling, attic foil, sheathing, etc roof. The other 12ft of ceiling, put T&G, cotton insulation 42 R (doubled as I had much extra), ATTIC FOIL on top, then air space then roof sheathing, etc. So very warm during this very cold winter. I believe the ATTICFOIL shall reflect the summer heat as well. Shall let you know. After all this…..GREAT PRODUCT!” -Rustic in TN
“I increased our attic insulation by installing additional R-30 rolls over the existing blown-in insulation. I chose to overlay the radiant barrier on top of the insulation as opposed to stapling it to the underside of the roof due to installation difficulties. Our energy provider, OG&E installed “smart meters” so we can track our power usage on a daily basis. As a result of these changes, our utility usage has been reduced a whopping 90-95% over “average users” and we are now beating the “efficient” models by an average of 12-13%. Oklahoma Gas and Elec provides rebates for energy upgrades on insulation, I wrote them and recommended that they add radiant barriers to their rebate options.” -Richard B. in OK
“This is a great product. Very sturdy and very effective. I contacted AtticFoil for advice before the purchase and they gave me some great ideas. I installed this on the roof of an unfinished garage, and the difference has been significant. The average Austin, TX summer daytime temp in the garage used to be 115F. With no other modifications to the heat-proofing of the garage, the average temp has dropped to about 95F.” -James in TX
“Wow! I’ve been online since the mid-90s, run my own online business, and shop online all the time. Doing business with AtticFoil.com was…professional. The site provided straight-forward information, a great FAW section, and the options provided me with exactly what I needed. In fact, because of the information on their site, rather than assume the distance between my truss-constructed roof, I went into the attic and measured. Thank goodness, because otherwise I might have ordered the wrong size.
When they say this stuff is easy to put up and tough, they are spot on! I had to cover 2000 sf by myself. With nothing more than a ladder, a Stanley Sheetrock knife, a measuring tape and a 25-year old staple gun, I put the barrier up in just 6 hours over two days. I worked 3 hours each morning before going to work. Before ordering the barrier, I monitored my attic temperature. It averaged 147 degrees. After putting the barrier up, the average temp now stays below 100. Most days it never climbs above 80 degrees. I have to state that I live in Washington State, Puget Sound Area and that I built a energy efficient home that earned a 5-star energy rating. The house takes advantage of passive solar energy and the 15-mph winds (on average) to keep the house cool.
Using the Barrier only adds to my heating and cooling costs. I plan to monitor my costs for the next 12 months and if it saves what I believe it will, I plan to put it in my 4-bay, insulated garage.” -Rich R. in WA
“My brother and some other volunteers actually installed the Atticfoil, over an existing roof, along with a metal roof. Without any other changes, the temperature inside my house was fifteen to twenty degrees cooler. This is a house that is exposed to the South Alabama sun all day. Before this change, the AC would run constantly all day and it would still be hot inside the house. I am very pleased so far and expect not to change my mind, it that good.” -Connie in AL
“Extremely satisfied with the product. Exactly as advertised. Even a gorilla like me couldn’t tear it. Central Florida with dark grey asphalt shingles. Attic temperature went from 140 to just ten degrees above outside ambient. My thermostatically controlled exhaust fan has not run all year. Used to run about 10 hours a day in summer. Have manufactured trusses on 24′ centers. Bought the 26′ wide rolls. Used a total of 7 rolls. Worked great. I used every iteration of staple gun there is. The pneumatic is the way to go. Southern yellow pine after 27 years is like rock maple. 5/16′ staples worked the best for me.” -Dave in FL
“The quality of this foil is great – there is a mesh inside that prevents any tearing. With other foils, you can put a staple right through it and it can sag as a result. This was definitely higher quality foil that in any big box home improvement store that I saw. It has not gotten hot yet, so I cannot comment on its barrier performance, but I am already impressed.” -Megan in CA
“We received our order in a couple of days. We are building an Earthship with a metal roof, We placed the attic foil under purlins with the metal on top, the metal work was not finished in one day so the next morning there was dew all over the metal but the attic foil was completely dry. I feel that this product will help very much with any condensation that might occur.” -Allen S. in MO
“Yeah, this stuff works. 10-degree drop. I got enough to do my garage as well. My attic is not that tall so installation was more difficult but definitely worth it. Make sure you watch all their YouTube videos and tips. It’s 93 degrees outside and 78 inside without the AC on. Bonus: The attic is now cool enough that you can store stuff up there. Storage space! Also, the attic is now brighter. One light can light the whole thing. Other uses: Wrap your duct-work in the stuff, insulate your garage door, insulate your AC lines…..this stuff is awesome.” -Jasen in CA
“Excellent material. It is strong and thick. I showed my neighbors, they did not believe it. We were under a 4′ by 6′ piece at the beach. The sand temp was about 110, the air temp was 92, under the attic foil we almost got cold. No heat transfers at all!!!! I have hurricane boards 4 * 8 plywood that I leave up all year since they face the west. I took the boards down, taped up the foil with HVAC metal tape, Put the boards back up, the rooms facing the west were drastically cooler.” -Steve in AL
“I used attic foil in my attic and also in the garage. I’m pleased with the results. I feel my home and garage are cooler this year. I did my attic in the spring and I finished the garage a couple of weeks ago. I insulated my attic with R-30 then put the attic foil up on top of the insulation. I think the combination of both has made a big difference. In my garage I put in R-19 with a blanket of attic foil on top of it also. My garage rafters had nothing, open and insulated. As you can imagine really hot in the summer and cold in the winter. I’ve noticed a big difference there too. So far the house and the garage have been cooler and that makes me happy. This coming winter will be a good test. I’ve been tracking my heating bills to see if I’ll be saving some money with the improvements in the long run. Sometimes our Colorado winters can be pretty brutal. So like I mentioned I’m pleased so far. Oh yeah, doing all this is kinda of a hot and dirty job. I did all the work by myself so I could save more money. I learned a lot. When and if I had questions, I went to Attic Foil’s web site and watched some of there video’s. Easy as that! I own my home so I think it will be a good investment for all the seasons and years to come. Thank you Attic Foil!” -B.H. in CO
“Before Attic Foil installation the small confined attic spaces on either side of my finished bonus room above the garage would get to at least 114 deg minimum. The roof gets direct sun all day and in addition to being a second floor room it would get unbearable to be in there with interior temps upward of 95 deg (without AC). Even the 3 main air vents and a 8G btu window unit (sized perfectly for the room) would barely make a dent and run constantly just to get the temp down to 85-87.
After researching the Attic Foil decided it was a no-brainer to at least try it so started by attaching it against the rafters in those two attic spaces to see if it would really work. Well, the 12 deg difference it made convinced me I was on the right track and tore into the living space removing drywall etc..unfortunately no other way to do it dealing with a finished room like that and a major project but worth the effort. Now on 95+ deg days, the average interior temp of that room is 85 without AC and it used to be that with all AC units going full blast.
Obviously, I was working with a slanted ceiling and had to install the barrier between the rafters. The only problem I had installing was using the construction adhesive on the spacers between the rafters. The roof was hot and the spacers would slide all over the place or wouldn’t stay up. Use a couple short roofing nails to secure the spacers while the glue sets up. Actually in retrospect don’t really need to glue if ya use the short roofing nails. The spacers just maintain the required air gap so once the insulation is installed there’s no more upward pressure to compromise that and doesn’t really matter if they drop or not.” -D.R.A. in NC
“I purchased atticfoil after thinking about it for over 5 years(house is only 7 years old). I finally thought i have nothing to lose. I purchased and went to work in the attic. I had blown in insulation and didn’t care for it and I wanted flooring to be able to walk around the attic. So i shoveled up the blown in insulation and packed it where i couldn’t use the rolled insulation. Packed in between the floor joist and then i re-insulated with rolled insulation. When i went to install the atticfoil on the roof joist i realized with all the different angles on the roof line that i wasn’t able to install easily. so i went back on the website and saw i could install over top of the rolled insulation i installed. i was done with my attic in 4 hours(1500 sq ft). I’m a 50 year old women that’s pretty handy. Anyway my heat bills were almost cut in half. I just started the spring/summer season. With my ac on now with 80 plus degree temps. my thermostat is up 5 degrees higher than i've ever had it to keep the house comfortable. So for energy efficient means and a do it yourself install. I’m happy as a pig in a mud pit. I highly recommend to everyone to install this product. I’m upset i didn’t do it when i first thought about it 5 years ago. I’m about to purchase another home and will be installing atticfoil as the first home improvement/weekend project i do. I highly recommend to anyone that wants to do a home improvement project that counts for energy savings and overall temperature control throughout your home. I purposely left one section open with just insulation on the front side of my home. When i came down the stairs each cold morning in January there was a 10 degrees temperature difference(a lot colder). Of course i just installed that last long piece so that i have a constant temperature throughout the house. love the product and the ease of install follow AtticFoil instructions on website and it is a piece a cake. I had to prove it to myself that it made a big difference and I did by leaving just that one piece undone. So what you read on the website is true and correct and again recommend this product to anyone.” -Sassy in GA
“Superior Product & Reasonable Price for Quantity given in AtticFoil’s roll!!! Super Fast Shipping!!! Compared to Big Home Improvement Stores selling Inferior/Overpriced per/foot rolls. AtticFoil is “THE WAY TO GO”!!!!! ALOHA FROM HAWAII ” -Nelson in HI
“Product is very durable, does not tear even when handled roughly. The first day of install, I only got half way done. Outside temp in south Texas was 89 at 5pm. temp reading on an unfinished higher part of attic was 115. temp reading on finished lower part of attic (ON the foil) was 94. That was only half installed. But I think a very good sign. I posted one question to support, and was promptly replied to early the next day. Thanks.” -David S. in TX
“I bought AtticFoil to do the ceiling above the kitchen area of our “bunkhouse”, a small 20 x 30 building we live in when we come home each summer as our main house is rented out. It was very easy to install and was much more durable than I had expected. I put a lot of boxes and stuff in this space and there have been no tears. And yes, the kitchen area has remained much cooler even when the attic space was very hot. When we reroof the bedroom/study area part of the bunkhouse I will put attic foil between the metal roof and the roof board and bat. 1/2″ plywood will go over that. When the main house gets reroofed we will use attic foil between the new plywood sheathing and the existing board and batting also. And at our county fair today I think I sold a guy selling another similar product for $2.25/sq ft; a three ply – metal both sides, 1/8″ foam in between, on taking a look at attic foil at 16 cents/sq ft instead of his expensive product. The only better product out there might be green-yellow; a five ply product, but at $3.25/sq ft it is way out of most people’s budget for very very little gain over attic foil. Atticfoil is a tough deal to beat folks; it works, it’s tough stuff, keeps its shape and is easy to put down with a cheap staple gun.” -B. Ball in WA
“Very easy and accommodating! This product is amazing and very easy to handle and install. Myself along with the help of a neighbor completed a 2,350 sq.ft. house entire attic in approximately 12 hours! I highly recommend this product for its performance, ease of installation, and cost!” -Mario in TX
“I live in northwest NJ and my attic temps were over 120 during the hot summer days. I have an indoor/outdoor temp in my attic so I can see the temps easy. I finally got the time in mid-June to get the Attic Foil installed. I had my son help and it was pretty easy to install. I’m very happy to report that my attic temps are now on average 10 degrees warmer than the outside air temps. My shingles are black, so I am very happy with this product. The foil is very tough, I tried to tear a piece and was unsuccessful.” -Mike W. in NJ
“I purchased this product because my room upstairs (cottage style home) is always 6-8 degrees warmer than my main floor in the summer. I will have to wait till next summer to see how well it does. I can attest that this product is easy to handle. I installed it myself. Yes, it would be easier with 2 people. But I cut the length I needed and rolled it up and crawled behind the knee-high wall into the attic space. Then stapled up one edge to the rafter and then unrolled the rest while crawling. Pulled it tight and stapled up the far end and then worked my way back, stapling as I went. Not hard at all. Durable product.” -Rob in IN
“Quick delivery. videos posted are correct: easy to install (26″). We’ve noticed a reduced energy bill (live in South Florida): approximately 10-15% total energy bill reduction in summer!” -R. Mark in FL
“This was amazing. The product, the information offered on the site, the convenience. We loved this product so much we ordered two 1000 sq ft rolls at separate times then a smaller roll at a later time. We sent almost a complete roll across the country to our son who also thought it was an amazing product.
It has more than paid for itself and we’ve only been through one winter. The attic is still humid of course, being July in the Midwest, however we installed a powerful exhaust fan which is super nice and was a smart investment of about 100.00 and a little time. My husband and I were thrilled at discovering your website. We checked out a product @ Home Depot & decided to dig a bit and found your site. We just wish we would have found it a couple years ago when our house was being sided. We would have wrapped the entire house!!” -Dave and Marie Williams in IL
“20 degree drop in my Work shop” -Joe M. in IA
“It’s a great product. It’s extremely strong. It can be pulled tight from long distances to help with the installation and it won’t rip. It’s a great price for the quality of material.” -C.A.G. in MD
“We installed it in our 5,000 sq ft building, simple to do. I also installed it in my attic by myself in the evenings. Super simple, love it. THanks!!!” -Lee in GA
“Product, installation, quality, delivery, and results were all as promised by Attic Foil. I did the AFRB installation work in my attic by myself during the heat of the summer and was very impressed with the improvement in the coolness in our house and the improvement efficiency of our air conditioning systems.” -Bill N. in MO
“I decided to try atticfoil out before adding more insulation to the attic. I stapled the foil to the rafter bottoms and right away it dropped surface temp of existing insulation. I used leftover foil on my shed and it added a very noticeable difference when you walk into it now.” -Carl in OK
“I installed the foil in my attic as a one man process, so I found the videos that Attic Foil put together to be very beneficial for me. I am about 75% complete with the installation, but have found the material to be easy to cut and install and the impact has been positive on our inside room temperatures. I recommend this product to others.” -Kenneth in LA
“I have a house in Mathews Va. and had to replace the heat pumps 5yrs ago the unit upstairs only cooled at night or on days that the sun did not shine. The foil was put in the attic and now the ac works great the heat in the attic was reduced and the savings on the electric bill alone has paid for the foil in a few months.” -Richard in VA
“I purchased a prefab building to be used as storage and workshop. I needed it insulated but did not want to go through the hassle of hanging sheetrock but needed the insulation covered. I was a bit concerned about installing the foil but the product is very easy to install. It is very strong yet easy to cut. My son and I were able to cover the insulation in the ceiling in just a few hours and it looks, and most importantly, works great! I used it on the walls as well, covering some of it with thin OSB for protection against damage. I can cool the entire building with a very small window AC unit I installed in a wall. Thanks AtticFoil for a great product!” -Danny in NC
“I installed this product on my attic and it is real that it works. It is a radiant barrier. Thrust me it works. I live in New Jersey, Passaic county. Heat and cold are really intense. However, this product helps to lower the intense heat in the attic.” -Anonymous in NJ
“This product is awesome. The web site with all the videos and instructions explaining the product and installation of it is wonderful. After watching the videos I knew that this product was much superior to what other retailers were selling, so I ordered it, got it in record time, and installed it into two different homes all in a matter of a week. The secret is to cut it ahead of time and take all the pieces into the attic and then install it.. Don’t take the roll to the attic and cut it there.. I made a jig, that I placed on a sawhorse, in the carport, so as I could put the roll into it and pull it out to cut it to the various lengths and widths that I needed. This keeps you from being bent over and on your knees. I used a box cutter knife and went through lots of blades.. I am 70 years old and the installation of this product took less time that putting batt insulation into my attic when I was younger. I just placed this product between the joists and over top of the insulation that was already there. There’s not much room in our attics, which meant working on my knees. I put a sharpened nail on the end of an 9ft piece of 1 by 3 and used it to push the pieces into the areas where I couldn’t reach.. It actually took longer to put permanent lights in the attic so I could see rather than wearing one of those head lanterns. I did my home first and then my lady friends.. Right away we noticed a remarkable difference.. All the rooms in the house all seemed to stay at the same temperature, The houses stayed warm all night and during the day they remained cool. In the 2 weeks since this product was installed our air conditioners and heat pumps have been turned off.
At my lady friends place her enclosed carport (18 ft by 20 feet) is a hot house during the day. I couldn’t get into the attic above to put the attic foil in, so I strapped only about 90% of the carport ceiling with 1 by 3’s about 16 inches apart, using an air brad nailer. Then I stapled the attic foil to the strapping, using an air stapler and 1/2 inch staples. Using the same jig that I mentioned above., I cut all the pieces in approx 4 ft by 5 ft and stapled them up.. Had to go around lights, garage door openers, and brackets but no big deal here since anything you do with attic foil has a cumulative effect.. Once I got finished the carport the temperature during the day remained about the same as inside the living area of the house.. Since the afternoon sun shines directly onto the garage door I thought that this would hinder this AtticFoil job, but it didn’t..
I just can’t believe how remarkable this AtticFoil is and I wished I had known about it years ago. I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to go green and save energy. It's easy to install at any age. Thank you very much for this fine product.” -Gary in BC, Canada
“I installed AtticFoil under the roof of my garage. This does two things: it keeps the temperature more stable making it more comfortable to work in the garage, and it reflects light back down making the garage much brighter.
Installation was pretty easy. The material is very strong so you don’t have to be careful how you handle it when installing it.” -Anonymous in CA
